Until September 30th, the National Museum of Contemporary Art of Athens (EMΣΤ) and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) present the exhibition "Return to Sender" by the collective NEST and sound the alarm.
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation is sounding the alarm and pointing out overconsumption in the fashion world. Fast fashion is a real planetary disaster as its ecological footprint is disastrous. It is now possible to measure the extent of this uncontrolled and frenetic consumption in the world and to confront the impactful reality experienced by Kenya and many other African countries.
Katerina Gregos, Artistic Director of EMΣΤ, said she is delighted to be working with the NEST collective and the SNFCC “to promote art that takes a critical look at society as a whole and its political emergencies, examining key issues in our time “.
This installation is designed in the form of a landscape of waste made up of collected textiles and clothing intended for recycling after the exhibition.
Free outdoor exhibition, until September 30th, 2023.
