English version
"Surfin’ Gaza" by Alexander Klein has been with us for over 10 years. We regularly flip through its pages to remind ourselves that anything is possible. That the intelligence of some will prevail over the hatred of others. Because we are all affected, in our origins, in our lives, and especially in our daily lives today, by these incessant conflicts and their grim consequences. This book keeps our hope alive.

“Those who can surf together can live together.” These words by Dorian Paskowitz summarize his commitment with the members of Surfing for Peace, determined to share the excellent waves offered by the Mediterranean from Tel Aviv to Egypt with the Palestinians.
In August 2007, Arthur Rashkovan, Dorian, and his son David managed to distribute some surfboards to Gaza surfers. In April 2009, Alexander Klein, a young American filmmaker, went to Israel and also crossed the border. The sun shines on both sides of the wall, and on the water, the rumbling of the conflict fades away. From this adventure, from these encounters, Alex captured images which he turned into a moving documentary. The new surfboards won’t be able to follow the same path as in August 2010. A story that deserved to be a book. Aloha.
“Surfin’ Gaza” by Alexander Klein, released in 2011, 160 pages, 32 euros. Available on Amazon, among other platforms.
