Today is the day the museum dedicated to the diva opens its doors. On this occasion, it will welcome the public for free until October 29th at 44 Metropoleos Street in Athens.
The Maria Callas Museum, the first of its kind, dedicated to the legendary Greek soprano who defined 20th-century opera, has opened its doors on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Maria Callas’s birth.
Located in the heart of the capital, the museum is housed in a listed building dating back to the 1920s.
The visit, highly promising, starts on the second floor, where visitors step into a forest scene while the diva, her silhouette projected on the wall, sings an aria from Bellini’s opera.
