The Minotaur, as described in ancient Greek mythology, is a creature with the head and tail of a bull and the body of a man, born from the unnatural union of a queen and a bull. A symbol of fear, power, and strength, it inspired the creator of 'The Artians by Konstantina' in the creation of her new ready-to-wear collection SS/24 MINOTAURE.
According to the myth, the Minotaur dwelt at the center of a labyrinth-like construction built by the architect Daedalus and his son Icarus on the orders of King Minos of Crete. He was eventually killed by the Athenian hero Theseus. If the labyrinth is considered a symbol of the twists and turns of our inner conscience, of the human psyche, the Minotaur, on the other hand, represents our strength to conquer our inner fears.
Undoubtedly one of the most intriguing creatures of Greek mythology, the Minotaur has left an indelible mark on art and literature.
Today, it continues to inspire artists, including the designer Konstantina.
The prints, more complex than ever, bearing the sacred symbols of Greek mythology, become wearable works of art.
