On the occasion of the press presentation of the new Sun of a Beach 2023 "August" collection, we had the opportunity to discover the latest innovations from the brand on a sunny Thursday evening in the heart of Athens.
It was on a beach in Mykonos during the summer of 2011 that Melina and Ellie came up with the idea to launch the brand Sun of a Beach (which we absolutely love the name, by the way!). Our two founders quickly realized the significance of beach towels on beaches worldwide. They immediately decided to reimagine the quintessential summer accessory from a fresh perspective. The seed was planted, and the following year, the brand was born.
Their primary goal was for all products to be handmade and locally produced in Greece. After the beach towel, the brand has continued to evolve, constantly offering new ideas and products that embody the elements of Greece and the Mediterranean, as well as faraway tropical destinations.
And because ecology is also at the core of their concerns, and the Mediterranean Sea is increasingly facing serious threats such as overfishing, climate change, and pollution, an exclusive line in partnership with WWF has been developed. That’s why 10% of every sale is donated to WWF Greece to support their efforts.
On June 22nd, we had the privilege to get a sneak peek of the latest collection. Inspired by the best month of the Greek summer, when the island breeze makes everything light and easy, the 2023 “August” collection captures the very essence of summer with new patterns, styles, and items, blending fun and functionality.
A carefree collection, light and bursting with vibrant colors, full of sunshine !
