Beauty, design, imagination, hospitality... We have rarely seen a place as beautiful as this one.
What began as a 6-suite “hôtel particulier” nestled in a 1920s neoclassical residence has evolved into a unique location. Shila is a concept hotel where absolutely every detail has been carefully thought out. Nothing is left to chance, the harmony, the coherence are incredible. At Shila, customers feel at home. Let’s visit this exceptional place.
Located in the chic neighborhood of Kolonaki, just few minutes from downtown Athens, Shila rubs shoulders with the best in fashion, gastronomy, galleries, art and history museums, including the Benaki Museum, Museum of Cycladic Art and B&E Goulandris Foundation, among others.
For Shila, real luxury is about creating emotions. The establishment, thought as if it were a question of organizing a house to welcome friends, was designed as an experiential journey, where all the senses are stimulated : sight, smell, touch, hearing and taste. And because true style has little to do with price or labels, Shila has made simplicity her priority, her inspiration.
The materials used are responsible, original, antique for some, recovered for others or custom made locally.
There is a balance between ancient Greek references and modern industrial design, urban and natural materials.
Inspired by the building’s original terrazzo floors, high ceilings and wild garden, the hotel was envisioned as the home and atelier of an enigmatic muse named ‘Shila’ (meaning ‘character’ in Sanskrit).
Two green patios, two sumptuous living rooms and a peaceful roof garden complete a timeless and magnetic universe.
Shila is also a place dedicated to pop-up events, photo and film productions, private dinners, business, art exhibitions…
